AdTran 900e iniatial set up through ethernet port not working

Hello we are trying to set up one an Adtran device. It is reset to factory.  When we try to connect through the Ethernet port and follow the direction 10.10.10.1 is not being recognized. Any advice? I order a CRAFT port cable and will try that approach next.

Per the Total Access 900 Series (3rd Generation) document (61213908F1-13A) the unit comes with a default IP address of 10.10.10.1.

You can factory default the unit using "erase startup-config".  Per the document "The device will have a blank configuration upon reboot."  Also "Upon reboot, you will have to reconfigure the unit using the port labeled CRAFT." which lead you to believe that the default IP address of 10.10.10.1 is deleted and you have to use the serial CRAFT port to access the CLI and reprogram the management IP.
