Important Note Regarding using DHCP for BSAP 3040 Discovery with Windows Server 2008

If you are using Windows Server 2008, in some cases depending on how option 43 is configured, the HEX entry sent to the AP that includes the IP address will also include extra non-numeral characters. The initial shipping version of the BSAP 3040 rejects this whole entry rather than removing the extra characters which will not allow the AP to be discovered properly.

To fix this:

Make sure you follow the directions in vWLAN AP Discovery on page 12 for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 DHCP Option 43 Configuration. If the option is configured exactly as the document states, the discovery issue with not happen. This is fixed in the final GA version of 3.0.0 and 3.0.0.HA for the BSAP 3040. Once upgraded, the issue will not be seen again.
