sr400ac supported usb file system types

For the sr400ac, I would like to use the USB port provided with a USB drive, preferably with the popular exFAT file system type that Microsoft has now released as open source, since the drive I want to use is a 1TB drive.

I find nothing in either the Quick Start Guide nor the Gateway User Manual regarding what file system types are recognized.

I have a Samsung Portable SSD T5, Model MU-PA1T0B, with the factory supplied exFAT formatting. I connected this SSD directly via USB to a Windows 10 computer, and can directly write and read media and data files on the SSD using Windows 10.

I see no contents in this same SSD when it is connected to the sr400ac. I have setup the sr400ac samba and I can see drives for both USB1 and USB2, but both show no files available. Enabling DLNA also does not show any of the media files I have written to the SSD.

Do the USB ports work for hosting storage devices? If so, how?
