How to Create an Express Cloud Account

Creating an Express Cloud Account

Express Cloud provides the power and simplicity of 100% cloud-managed Wi-Fi without required subscriptions, licenses, or on-premises controllers. It includes a “just right” feature set focused on robust enterprise connectivity and security as well as access to ADTRAN’sinteractive support community. Customers can upgrade to elevate the experience with ADTRAN enhanced support (telephone support (ProCare) or telephone support and next business day advanced hardware replacement (ProCare NBD)) or to ADTRAN Elite Cloud which includes both advanced features and ADTRAN enhanced support. Express Cloud, along with access to ADTRAN’s interactive support community is now included with the purchase of new ADTRAN 2000 and 3000 series APs.

To create an Express Cloud account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://adtran.com/cloud.
  2. Provide the requested information.
    • Company – The company name of the network being managed. This will become the Domain name in the Express Cloud dashboard.
    • First Name – The first name of the person managing the network.
    • Last Name – The last name of the person managing the network.
    • Email – The email address of the person managing the network. This will be used to login to the Elite Cloud dashboard and admin communication.
    • Phone # - The phone number of the person managing the network.
    • Country – The country of the company being managed. This will be used to determine where the account will be hosted.
    • Address – The address of the company being managed.
    • City – The City of the company being managed.
    • State – The state of the company being managed.
    • AP Serial Numbers – Serial numbers of the Access Points for this company. If multiple enter them comma separated or one per line. Serial numbers are 14 digits and start with 202, 203, 213 or 304. 18XX and 19xx series APs are not supported by Express Cloud.
  3. Click Create Account and you will receive cloud access information/credentials via email within one business day.

  4. After receiving the info via email, connect the AP to a network with access to the internet and supply power to it. The AP will automatically discover Express Cloud and show up under your account. Please refer to our quick start guides for additional information about physically installing, mounting, powering and LED status.

  5. If the AP was previously connected to vWLAN (now referred to as Elite On-Premises) or ProCloud (now referred to as Elite Cloud) it will not automatically discover Express Cloud and show up under your account unless you reset it to defaults. For more information on resetting the AP to defaults see AP Serial Console Configuration in section 10 of the Admin Guide

To add additional APs to your Express Cloud account, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the same steps above using the same email address as your Express Cloud account in the email field and same domain name in the company field. If you use an email address that already has an account and a domain that already exists, you will essentially be adding additional APs to that existing account and domain.
  2. You will receive confirmation that the APs have been added via email within one business day.
  3. After receiving confirmation via email, connect the AP to a network with access to the internet and supply power to it. The AP will automatically discover Express Cloud and show up under your account. Please refer to our quick start guides for additional information about physically installing, mounting, powering and LED status.
  4. If the AP was previously connected to vWLAN (now referred to as Elite On-Premises) or ProCloud (now referred to as Elite Cloud) it will not automatically discover Express Cloud and show up under your account unless you reset it to defaults. For more information on resetting the AP to defaults see AP Serial Console Configuration in section 10 of the Admin Guide.

To manage multiple customers under your Express Cloud account, for example for an MSP, follow these steps:

  1. Complete the same steps above for subsequent customers using the same email address as your Express Cloud account in the email field, for example the email address of the MSP. If you use an email address that already has an account with a new Company, you will essentially be creating a new domain under that existing account.
  2. You will receive confirmation that the domain has been added via email within one business day.

Device Setup

If you have ADTRAN APs in-hand that have not yet been installed, please refer to our quick start guides for first-time setup. These will provide further information about physically installing, mounting, powering, LED status, and initial configuration.

Note that for Elite Cloud you do not have to go to the ADTRAN website to create a cloud account or add additional APs. This will be done for you automatically for Elite Cloud based on your order and information will be provided via email. The process outlined in this document only pertains to Express Cloud. For further information on the differences between Express Cloud and Elite Cloud, refer to the FAQ.
