Factory defaulting the SR400ac

Factory default using the Reset button

If the unit is down and not providing Internet access, this is the quickest way to recover the unit.

  1. Use a pin size object to press the physical Teset button located on the back of the RG.
  2. Hold down the reset button for 15+ seconds until the lights flash red and yellow.
  3. When the lights stop flashing, release the reset button.
  4. Wait for the RG to come back online completely. Do not unplug or reboot the RG.

Note: If the RGs do not have a custom default configuration/build which contains the ACS Management URL in the TR-069 settings, then the device needs to be allocated to your Activation Server (contact Product Support if you have questions on this). A factory default will clear out these settings if they are only loaded into the running configuration.

Factory default an individual device through Device Manager

  1. Select the subscriber within Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Expert drop down menu.
  3. Click on Factory default Device.
  4. Check Factory reset device now.
  5. Click Save.

Note: If the RGs do not have a custom default configuration/build which contains the ACS Management URL in the TR-069 settings, then the device needs to be allocated to your Activation Server (contact Product Support if you have questions on this). A factory default will clear out these settings if they are only loaded into the running configuration.

Factory default multiple devices using a bulk operation

  1. Review the document on creating a Bulk Operation.
  2. Create a new Bulk Operation under the Bulk Operations tab in Device Manager.
  3. Use these parameters as guidelines:
    1. Name: provide a name to indicate purpose of bulk operation.
    2. Solicit Devices: Check.
    3. Solicit Attempts: Default is 1 but more attempts can be selected.
    4. Action: Select TR069 - Default Device from the list of options.  If it does not appear in the Actions list, then go to Administration -> Scripts -> Search and search for TR069 - Default Device. Select it to make it usable in Bulk Operations.
    5. Run: Once
    6. Day of Week: Select the day/evening you plan to run this.
    7. Run From: ADTRAN recommends running the bulk operation between 2 am and 5 am local time.
    8. Filter Criteria: You can use the Available Columns list to search for the filter. It could be based on MAC address, label, firmware version, etc.
    9. All other settings can remain at the defaults.
  4. Click Create.

Note: ADTRAN recommends testing on a few devices first before applying to a larger number of deployed RGs.

Note: If the RGs do not have a custom default configuration/build which contains the ACS Management URL in the TR-069 settings, then the device needs to be allocated to your Activation Server (contact Product Support if you have questions on this). A factory default will clear out these settings if they are only loaded into the running configuration.

Factory default from the RG's Web GUI

  1. Login to the RG as the support user.
  2. Expand the list of options under the Admin drop down menu.
  3. Select Configuration.
  4. Click on Factory default.
  5. Click Factory Reset.
  6. Select Yes, reset.
