Netvanta 160 needs to be rediscovered and reconfigured if it loses connection to the router that is controlling it. Is this typical behavior? What can I do to troubleshoot this?

NetVanta 160 needs to be removed, rediscovered and reconfigured if it loses connection to the router that is controlling it. Is this typical behavior? What Can I do to troubleshoot this? Thank you.
