PoE ports issues

Hello, I would like to know if someone has presented issues using the PoE ports with IP cameras.

I will perform an implelemtation using some NV1335  / 1544 and Mobotix cameras.

With reference to the 1335, I have not had any issues with IP cameras as long as they adhere to 802.3af standard.  I have run into problems with cameras that draw more power.  These are usually PTZ IP cameras with fans.  In that case, you may need to use a PoE power supply.  What kind of issue are you having?

At this time I haven't install the cameras, but the provider toldme that the cameras stoped working with some switches.

The reason to post the question, was to know if someone experienced issues to take precautions.

Some switches have a PoE budget which means that all ports are capable of PoE, but the switch has limited power, and may not be able to power devices on all the ports at the same time. The 1335 does not budget power, it is capable of powering all 24 ports at maximum 802.3af power (15.4W).

I’ve had no problems with the 1335 units that I’ve deployed.

As long as the attached IP Camera's are 802.3af compliant as far as power is concerned, you shouldn't have any issues. The 1335 has no idea what type of device is attached (camera, phone, magnetic door opener, etc) or what manufacturer it is, it only knows the amount of power being asked of it on that port. As long as the power requirement is within the 1335's capability (15.4W max per port), you should be good to go.
