Active Chassis Configuration

I have 3 Netvanta 1638p switches which I'm configuring into a Active Chassis stack.  None have been configured with Activechassis mode enabled yet.  I have purchased the Activechassis modules and cables and ready to start the configuration.

In the ActivChassis In AOS configuration guide the topology refers to 4 switches.

My question is how to connect the cables with 3 switches?  I created the following diagram of how I am thinking the cables should go.

  • SW1 will be the master
  • SW2 will be the linecard
  • SW3 will be the backup

Thanks,

Alan

Re: Active Chassis Configuration

I've set up ActiveChassis the same way for multiple customers running a switch stack of 3 and haven't run into any issues; you should be fine.
