Is the 1531P a fanless design?

Can anyone tell me of the 1531P is fanless? I need POE with management layer2 but quiet.

Yes, it is fanless. From data sheet:

Hardware

The NetVanta 1531P is a desktop, wall mountable

or rack mountable PoE switch with a fanless design

ensuring quiet operation. It provides 12 Gigabit

Ethernet ports, consisting of 10 fixed 10/100/

1000Base-T Ethernet ports and two 1.0 Gbps SFP

ports. Together the two SFP ports can provide up

to 4 Gbps of bandwidth between interconnected

NetVanta 1531P switches.

Note that only eight of the ten copper ports are PoE, so 8 x PoE copper + 2 non-PoE copper + 2 SFP.

As noted above the 1st 8 ports are the only ones that have PoE. Now depending on your PoE budget you may find yourself limited.
