How do I configure a Netvanta 3120 in IP Pass-through?

I'm trying to configure a Netvanta 3120 in IP Pass-through so that I can VPN into an intelligent switch which I will be configuring as a VPN server.  The 3120 would act as a dumb modem without any firewall or NAT.   I believe the external public interface IP  is to be set to none and that the IP to be presented on the public external interface would be the IP assigned by the intelligent switch on VLAN 1.  I just can't seem to make it work.

Thanks in advance.

Hi rcfitzhugh,

The Netvanta 3120 is a router with incorporated 4 port switch, not a modem.  I assume you want to use it as a layer 2 switch only, which raises the question why don't you use the 'intelligent switch' in its place?  In any case, the Netvanta can be configured to forward ports/protocols from WAN to LAN port(s) as required.  You could even set up the 3120 to expose the 'intelligent switch' to the WAN/Internet within a DMZ.
