IKE/IPsec setup different for samsung phones

Jump to solution

I have a Samsung GS3, a Note II and a Note III.  I can connect a VPN using IPsec Xauth PSK with the GS3.  If I put the same setup/credentials in the Note II or Note III it will not connect.

The DS3 and Note II are both running 4.1.2 . Cant seem to find anyone at Samsung who can tell me what changed between the galaxy and note

I was able to get the VPN to connect with a Samsung Note

crypto ike remote-id fqdn  <remote-id> preshared-key <key> ike-policy 100 crypto map VPN 10 nat-t v1 disable nat-t v2 force

This differs from the Samsung GS3 which would connect when nat-t is set to Allow

I don't have any of these phones to explain why they will not work with the same configuration, but did you try setting up a debugging session on your Netvanta for crypto/IKE and then IPSec to see what it reports?

I've done that and submitted to tech support for assistance.

- When you get a chance, could you post the resolution after working with Tech Support? Other users may find the answer helpful.

Thanks,
