Caller ID Name not showing on numbers that have been remote-call-forwarded

We have some numbers that are being remote-call-forwarded from another service provider to our PRI provider.  When those numbers are called the caller-id name is being presented last in the isdn debugs whereas numbers that reside with our PRI provider show the name earlier in the call setup.  As a result we don't see the caller ID name on those forwarded calls.  In fact the internal call leg is established before the caller ID name makes it into the system.

Whereas if I call the DID directly and bypass the external service provider's forwarding, the caller-id name is presented earlier and we see the name on the internal call.

This was working fine on the old PBX - any ideas on what I should change?  The PRI is currently using "isdn name-delivery display" and I tried using "setup" and  "proceeding" with the same results.  (By the way, do I need to restart the PRI interface when making these changes?)

I just wanted to add a note to mention this issue was resolved in AOS R10.9.4 and later, and was related to the scenario described below:


If a call using a 3.1 kHz audio bearer capability was received on a PRI, the AOS unit would not wait for calling party name to be sent in a FACILITY message after being instructed to do so in the SETUP message.

Thank you for all of the details.  I don't think there is anything you can configure on our side to change this behavior, but I would like to take a deeper look into this. To do so I would need a copy of the current configuration as well as the output from all of these debugs running simultaneously while you recreate the issue:

debug sip stack messages, debug voice verbose, debug isdn l2-formatted, and debug isdn l2-messages.  You can place the configuration and debug output on our FTP server with the instructions below.


Open Internet Explorer web browser on their PC
Type the following URL:  ftp://ftp.adtran.com


Press the Alt key, click View, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer


Double-click the "Incoming" folder
Drag and drop files from PC into the Internet Explorer window


Reply to this post with the exact filenames used so we can retrieve the files


Also, can you clarify what make and model switch the provider is using as well as the switch type it is configured for?

I have a case open for this issue and I sent in the debugs.  I'll report back on what they say.
