Does the Trunk Groups section order is important

Jump to solution

Hi,

we are moving from analog to PRI. Incoming call goes by the PRI but the outgoing call still going to analog trunk. My question is that my problem could be the order of the Trunk Groups. Does it go up to down and the first that match call template it goes with it?

Thanks for help!

If the pattern (phone numbers or wild cards) and cost match exactly, then it will be the first group listed. This is not proper configuration though.

If you click on your FXO and PRI Trunk Group, what entries do you have? What cost is assigned to them? If they are exact, then you want to make your analog (backup lines) to have a higher cost. Like assign them 100 cost. The Lower the Cost, the Higher the preference. So if you leave PRI at 0 cost and make analog 100 cost, then PRI will be selected first, and if PRI is busy or down, then calls will failover to the analog lines.   Does that make sense?

Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks for the fast reply. Yes that was exactly the problem i have. Both have the same cost so i change the analog for a higher one and the call test exit by the PRI now.
