Issues with dailing SPRE code for Voice Mail Access

From a analog phone on a 7100 we are having to wait 15 seconds for it to connect to the UC server.   From a Adtran 706 or 712 its a 5 second wait. What might cause this issue?

Hello Oliver,

When dialing *98# it goes right to voice mail.  I dropped the interdigit from 4 to 2 and this has done the trick when dialing from the analog lines.  When placed at 4 it does take around 8+ seconds to connect.

Nathan,

From the Analog phone and 706/712 phone what are you dialing?

Can you post the config of the 7100 for us to look at minus any passwords. . Click "Use Advanced editor" in the top right corner of the reply and then you will see an option below the reply to attach a file.

*98 is the SPRE code we are using to dial.  Sorry for the delay in my responses.

Try adding:

voice dial-plan 15 user1 *98

You may also have to add it to the dialplan on the 706/712.

Hey Jay,

I added the voice dial-plan you had suggested and we still are experiencing the delay.  Thank you for the suggestion though, and other insight on this issues would be greatly appreciated.

does it work faster if you dial *98#  ?

Does the delay drop if you reduce

"voice timeouts interdigit 16"

to lets say 8 sec?

glad that helped.

you shouldn't have to adjust your timeout to make it dial, but there are a few different things to look at, and I'd recommend opening a ticket with support if you want to chase it further for you FXS lines (which behave a little different than the IP phones).

for example the dial plan entry mentioned by Jayh should help, but likely needs the voice user account for the FXS port to be in a "class of service" which has the privelege to call dial plan "user1"

e.g.

voice class-of-service normal_users

  override-passcode 1234

  default-level

  aa-dnd

  aa-initiate-permit $

  aa-initiate-permit 2XX

  block-caller-id

  call-privilege extensions

  call-privilege local

  call-privilege long-distance

  call-privilege operator-assisted

  call-privilege specify-carrier

  call-privilege toll-free

  call-privilege user1

  camp-on
