Does the ADTRAN TSU router module support IP Subnet 0?
Q: Does the ADTRAN TSU router module support IP Subnet 0?
A: Yes. This is the default mode of operation for the TSU Router Module (1200350L1). This would allow an administrator to more fully utilize addressing space when subnetting is required. For instance extending the subnet mask by 2 bits would create 4 valid subnetworks vs. only two if IP Subnet 0 were not supported. Thus the number of subnets would equal 2 to the nth power where n is the number of bits extended in the subnet mask. If IP Subnet 0 is not used the then the number of subnets would equal 2 to the nth power - 2 where n is the number of bits extended in the subnet mask.
