When troubleshooting with carriers on HDSL systems, my equipment reports Bipolar Violations coming from the adtran HTU-R, which to me is an indication of trouble on the ports or cable between the R card and my equipment, but the carriers always identify the issue somewhere in the cable pairs on the span.
Can someone explain to me how I see remote cable pair trouble as BPVs from the R card, when the R card does not loose power?
Any recommendations on a document where this is explained, as well as help with other troubleshooting?
