Q&A – Can I Modify Outbound Caller ID?

Q&A – Can I Modify Outbound Caller ID?

Question:

Can I modify the outbound caller ID of ADTRAN IP Business Gateways (IPBGs)?

Answer:

Yes, ADTRAN (IPBGs) are capable of displaying a predefined telephone number for all outbound calls (like an 8xx number).

The recommended approach is to use Enhanced ANI Substitution. The “match ani <template> substitute <template>” command configures automatic number identification (ANI)
substitution for outbound voice trunks.

Another method is to use the "Caller ID Override" command. The "Caller ID Override" command configures the ADTRAN IPBG to replace caller ID information with a user-specified number.
