Polycom 650 missed calls

Jump to solution

I have 2 Polycom 650s working on a Netvanta 7100. I want to be able to disable the missed call feature on both phones. I've add the following statement to the Polycom customer-sip.cfg file <serverMissedCall call.serverMissedCall.1.enabled="1" call.serverMissedCall.2.enabled="1"/>  After rebotting each phone,one phone has the missed calls feature disabled and the other still continues to have it enabled. What have I done wrong?

If you only have one extension registered to the phone, you only need the first part.  This applies even with an extension is setup on multiple line keys of the phone.   For example if you had extension 2001 assigned to three line keys you would only need this:

<serverMissedCall call.serverMissedCall.1.enabled="1"/>

If you have different extensions registered, for example extension 2001 and 2002, you would need this:

<serverMissedCall call.serverMissedCall.1.enabled="1" call.serverMissedCall.2.enabled="1"/>

Thanks,

Matt

Just to help others, I wanted to link to our document that covers this procedure:

If it worked on one phone but not the other the first thing I would try is factory defaulting the non-working phone.  On a Polycom 650 you can do this by holding down the 4,6,8, and * keys and then entering the password 456 when prompted.  That will factory default the phone and it will download all the proper files from the Netvanta 7100 when it reboots.

Thanks,
Matt

I performed the factory default with no joy. I should say that I got one of the two 650s to disable missed calls using the this line in the .cfg file "<serverMissedCall call.serverMissedCall.1.enabled="1"/>"  When the second phone didn't disable after reboot, that's when I changed the parameter to that referenced in the first post.

I suppose my confusion stems from these lines in the app note:

<serverMissedCall call.serverMissedCall.X.enabled="1" call.serverMissedCall.Y.enabled="1"/>

where X and Y are the numbers of the registration for the private extension (starting at 1)

Can you take this instruction and tell me where I went wrong in the config parameter in the first port?
