The Atlas 550 is not passing CID NAM even though it is in the Call Setup message; it seems to work for less than 24 hours and then stop.
Here is a formatted dump (from the 550) that shows the Name is in the display:

Any ideas?
There may be a little confusion. The name does not have to be in a separate facility IE, but it cannot be a DISPLAY IE. The ATLAS 550 supports the name either in the SETUP message or in a supplemental STATUS message, but it does have to be a FACILITY IE. The ATLAS 830 and 890 work best if the name is presented in the SETUP message (as a Facility IE).
Hi bbb,
I don't see the Caller ID Name in the trace from the telco.
It appears the Caller ID information is being presented as a Display Information Element (IE) as "IE - 28 DISPLAY" followed by the caller ID information. The ATLAS only supports Caller ID in a Facility IE. If the CID Name is not presented as a Facility IE, the ATLAS will not pass the information.
Thank you,
Patrick
Patrick,
This has not been my experience with the 550. I see you work with Adtran 🙂 I'm pretty sure that I have called and spoken about this issue with Adtran TS several times, and the name has to be in the setup message, not a separate facility message. This is not the entire dump, but it is currently being sent in both the setup and a follow up facility message.
And, oddly enough, it works for about the first 24 hours or so. Would you please re-confirm that the Atlas expects it as a separate facility (IE 1C) message?
Thank you!
