I need to replace the REAL TIME chip.

Jump to solution

Any chance this is as simple as soldering in the replacement chip? If not, is there a procedure available to replace and initialize the new chip?

Thanks,

Tom

ADTRAN does not have a procedure available for replacing the Real Time Clock Chip, but it is essentially desoldering and removing the old chip and replacing it with the new chip and soldering it in place. The chip part numbers were presented in this discussion where an ATLAS was losing its configuration (which is the result of this chip going bad). The chip is located at U4 on the motherboard.

Hope this helps,

Patrick
