6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

We're having an issue specifically with laptops using the Intel 7265 wireless adapter only on the 6040 APs.  These laptops do not see any SSIDs in the wifi network list even though it works fine on other Adtran APs.  We're using 4.2.1-R AP firmware and 4.2.1 controller.  We've tried various versions of the Intel drivers.  Any ideas?

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

What if you reboot the 6040 AP you are trying to connect to, does that help?

also it looks like the latest from intel are here https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/18231/intel-proset-wireless-software-and-drivers-fo...

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

We have several computers at various locations with this issue.  Happens on all the  6040's.  We're still experimenting with the newest driver but so far no luck.  We actually had some with ax200 adapters with similar issues with 6040's also but uninstalling the current wifi driver completely and installing the latest worked with those.

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

What band is giving you issues or is it both?

Here I have 2.4Ghz set to 20Mhz and 5Ghz set to 80Mhz and have not ran across any issues.

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

Neither 2.4 or 5 work but we'll take another look.

Thanks

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

I'll see if I can get my hands on those two cards, 7625 and ax200 series to test with since we don't have 6040's deployed everywhere yet.

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

no issues with AX200, nic driver settings all are defaults

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

same with Intel 7265, no issues seen connecting and staying connected.

Of course this card is only ac and not ax.

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

Do you have any features enabled such as 802.11r, Tunnel WLAN Traffic? What radio and wireless mode are your AP templates in?

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

Thanks for the info.  Been too busy with other issues today to work on this but we'll try to cross reference our settings with yours.

No tunneling, AP mode.  We still have both 2.4 and 5 Ghz radios in 20mhz channel width.  Configured for b/g/n/ax.  We do have L3 Mobility enabled.  802.11r is off.

Re: 6040 AP issue with Intel 7265 wireless adapter

Ah, we ran into this also, some Intel client radios did not like the 5Ghz band doing anything less than 80Mhz channel width, you can run it at 20 or 40 but you have to change some settings on the intel radios to do so, but 2.4Ghz band should not have this problem.
