Cant Access the GUI on a 1238P

Switch was defaulted.  I consoled in and set up IP address/Subnet.  I enabled the HTTP server and created username and password.  I can ping it, but cant get to the login page.  I have tried Firefox, Safari, and IE.  I have tried on a Mac and a PC as well.  Any ideas?

Re: Cant Access the GUI on a 1238P

Here's my http configuration from a 1638.  And don't forget to set a default gateway:

ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 10.101.0.1

!

http authentication LoginUseRadius

http server

http session-timeout 14400

http secure-server

Can you access the box any way other than console?   Telnet, SSH?

Re: Cant Access the GUI on a 1238P

For the GUI to be accessible you have to turn it on, setup the IP, and have a Username/Password setup. You can create one from enable prompt:

1) configure terminal

2) username * password *

Re: Cant Access the GUI on a 1238P

I have enabled it, set ip address, added username and password.  I have not defined a default route.  I have done this several times, but dontt remember setting up a default route for the switches in order to access the GUI.  I will give that a shot.

Have not tried to access it other than console and GUI

If you are still having issues can add the show run of the device? Also where are you trying to access the device from--is the computer hookup directly to that switch?
