Firmware update 1534 - one big jump or stages?

Jump to solution

Hello, I have a few 1534s (gen1) that are way way behind on firmware updates because they have never given me any issues and for what they were doing, updates were really never a concern for these switches. But now that we are doing more with them I need to see about getting them current. I am currently at 17.08.01 if that tells you anything! How big of a jump in revisions is wise? Should I stage them by major revisions or just go for it and load the newest?

Thanks for any advise, JJ

Thank you for asking this question in the support community.  There is no ADTRAN requirement that you upgrade this unit via stages.  It is important to note the "Minimum Boot ROM" column from the Release Notes Supported Platform section to make sure the Boot ROM supports that version of firmware.  In addition to that, make sure you read all the information at the top of the www.adtran.com Software Downloads page.

Here is the Upgrading Firmware in AOS document for additional information. Please, let me know if you have any additional questions.
