Routing between Dell 6248 and Netvanta1638P

Jump to solution

Hi all-

First off I'd like to start off with that I have searched through the articles on these forums and can not for the life of me get the routing to work for the multiple vlans I have currently set up.

We are integrating a new rack with an Adtran Netvanta 1638 P and it is currently uplinked via port 48 to the 6248 via port 18.

I am able to ping and connect to our new VCenter server which is on vLan 2000 and I am also able to pink all devices on vLan 2000 on the new rack from the 6248 but vLan 2002 is not accessible. VMware hosts are connected to ports 3,4,5 13,14,15 on the 1638 and when I spoke to an Adtran rep they advises that I would have to make the ports native and then have the access vlans set; this seems to work for intervlan routing but not to the outside world (6248)  Here is the netvanta config

Re: Routing between Dell 6248 and Netvanta1638P

- Thanks for posting your question the forum!

Are the VMware hosts only going to be using VLAN 2002 on ports 3, 4, 5, 13, 14, and 15? If so, I would change this to be "switchport mode access". As of right now, the switchports are setup as trunks so the "switchport access vlan <vlan id>" has no affect. Are you at least able to ping the vlan 2002 IP on the 1638 from the 'outside'?

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Noor
