Spanning-Tree Topology Change Monitoring/Trigger?

Jump to solution

I need to more closely monitor the Spanning-Tree topology changes on our Adtran Netvanta switched network. Is there a mechanism on the 1600 series that I could set up to trigger on the switches when a topology change occurs? An email trigger or an SNMP trap maybe? I have set up triggered emails of config cmds already, could I do something similar for STP topology changes?

Thanks in advance!

@matthew - There is a MIB that will give you information regarding spanning-tree that you can download from here: https://www.adtran.com/web/page/portal/Adtran/wp_adtranmibs

Unfortunately, I can't think of a way to trigger when an STP topology occurs. However, you could set up persistent debug logging and capture the output of "debug span topology". Instructions on how to set this up can be found here: Enabling Persistent Debug Logging

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Noor
