Syslog over VPN

Jump to solution

Hello there,

I've got two Netvanta3120 routers connected through VPN. Site 1 is 192.168.1.0/24, and site 2 is 192.168.0.0/24.

I need o send syslog traffic from site-1 to site-2 and even though is configured with correct syslog server ip, the traffic is not passing through.

Any idea why communication is not passing on the two subnets?

I think other traffic is also not passing, like simple pings between the two and cannot figure why.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Thank you for asking this question on the support community forum.  Do you still have further questions on this application?  Typically, in issues similar to this with Syslog, you need to issue the source ip command to be sourced from the LAN to force this traffic to be sent over the VPN.

Here is the Syslog guide for reference:  Configuring Syslog Logging in AOS

Please, do not hesitate to reply to this post with any additional questions or information.  I will be happy to help in any way I can.
