3340 remote admin

Jump to solution

My client would like to manage their 3340 router remotely instead of having to log into the local network and open the local ip of the router. Is there a way to do that?

Absolutely. If the 3340 is on the Internet, apply a "self" policy to the Public access policy. If it's behind another NAT firewall router with only private addressing you'll need to configure port-forwarding on the outside router.

  • Pick a good password
  • Use an access-list to lock down remote access to trusted networks.
  • Best to turn off unencrypted access such as telnet and http, use ssh and https.
