Port forwarding issue

port forwarding for a TFTP server is not working

I need to copy a config from my computer to another netvanta 3448 via TFTP. my router here is a 3448 as well.

I port forwarded the port UDP 69 to my internal ip address. I have a TFTP server called winagent TFTP server.

The TFTP ia working internaly,

if I run a port scanner on port udp 69 it is closed.

Re: Port forwarding issue

Your firewall configuration looks correct.  I did a quick search on Winagent TFTP server and it can allow or restrict access to files depending on the clients IP address.  Have you verified that the Winagent's settings allow access to clients that are not in the local subnet?  If this is a Windows computer that is hosting the TFTP server, Windows Firewall may also be blocking UDP port 69.

Re: Port forwarding issue

Hi dlazure:

I think your config should work for TFTP forwarding, and radleyh's ideas are sound.  Hopefully it's something simple!

Depending on (or regardless of) the outcome, you may want to copy the config using the terminal.  It's pretty easy, whether connected to the console or SSH/telnet.  I would disable events with command  no events, then  copy console flash new-config.cfg  and press Enter.  You'll need to copy the complete contents of your config file within a text editor, then paste into the terminal session (for example, right-click anywhere in the window in PuTTY).  After the paste is complete, press Ctrl + D.  Then you can  copy new-config.cfg startup-config and reload.

Best,

Chris

Re: Port forwarding issue

Hi

I went through the program and I set security to none. Still no luck.

I am now using tftpd32 and it still not working. What I want to do is to send a config into the router running-config and if the config have any errors I want the customer to be able to reboot the router to be on the last known working config. They are changing wan provider.

Anyway the tftp server should work. It seems like my firewall is blocking it.
