Resource not available - cross connect

Jump to solution

I had loaded a config to a 3430 and noticed the cross-connect would not take for the frame relay.

I tried to enter the crossconnect t1 1/1 1 Frame-relay 1 and it says resource not available. I tried to enter it in both global config and interface config.

T1 shows present

interface frame-relays are there

I removed al frame-relay reference and shut no shut , downgrade reboot , loaded another config, reseated card, rebooted, reloaded configs, we still could not get cross connect to take.

I also noticed that I am not able to console to the unit, it receives debugs and messages from the router but I am not able to type anything back up to it.

Side note: We had to give the customer a loaner since I haven't been able to reach Adtran tech support in over 24 hrs for this problem.

Not sure what is going on over there but I can no longer recommend Adtran products if we cannot reach tech support.

Re: Resource not available - cross connect

Jump to solution

I loaded the configuration via GUI from a working unit with only changes to the DLCI and but cross connects would not take.

Had to use FR 2 instead of the typical FR1

We got the customer up and running on the new config so going to move on. I think there were other issues with the unit, we ended up RMA’ing it because the serial port was not functioning either.

Thanks for your help

Can you post the configuration here so we can have a look at it?

Did you create a TDM-group for the T1 first?

interface t1 1/1

  tdm-group 1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64

If so, verify that it isn't already connected elsewhere.

Yes, but I could not create a cross connect within either the fr 1 point-to-point or global config.

I was trying to enter cross-connect 1 t1 1/1 1 frame-relay 1

But it said resources not available.

MY ONLY OPTION was to create interface Fr2 point-to-point

Set that with an lmi ansi

And use cross-connect 1 t1 1/1 1 frame-relay 2

Do you know why would that be? I have done over a hundred of these but this time we had these issues.

The cross-connect commands seem to be kind of a hybrid between interface and global.  I haven't seen that issue before unless either the T1 or FR resource wasn't properly configured.

Does "show connections" list anything tied to FR 1?
