I've been trying to set up a pair of NetVanta 4148 POE routers to handle a rather complex failover scenario requested by a client, part of which is supposed to include VRRP + SIP Proxy on a switch VLAN interface of the 4148P. However it does not appear that ( at least in version 14.4.x and R13.12.1.E ) that the option to enter "media gateway IP primary vrrp # " exists under the VLAN interfaces.
If I set up an IP on one of the four gigabit-ethernet interfaces, the option to enter "media gateway IP primary vrrp # " does exist.
Does anyone know if this is intentional?
Is there an errata somewhere I missed?
Would the "media gateway IP looback" functionality help, or is that only for WAN side connectivity?
The desired topology is to have a 4148P in two different buildings, each uplinked to a pair of switches in each building, with VRRP running between the two 4148P units and SIP proxy running so that 4-digit dialing might work should a cable cut completely isolate both buildings.
