URL Filter Issues
Good Morning All,
I have a NetVanta 5305 router without a websense server in which I have enabled URL filtering along with Top Website reports. With that being said, as soon as I apply the web filter to an interface assignment I am no longer able to download windows updates, adobe updates, or any .exe files from the web. I have tried removing all websites from the blocked portion and as soon as I apply the filter to the interface the same thing happens. If I turn off the web filter and set it to <none> on the specified interface, everything operates as it should except I'm not blocking the sites I need to.
Is there a reason why a simple web filter blocking a few sites would not allow downloading updates or .exe files on an interface?
Thank you for your help,
James

Re: URL Filter Issues
Thank you for replying and attaching the configuration. I do not see anything in the configuration that would be blocking the traffic you mentioned. I recommend you upgrade the ADTRAN firmware to the current maintenance release listed on the ADTRAN website, which is R10.9.4 at the time of this post.
