Hello,

No you do not need another NetVanta 7100; all that is required is a PoE switch.

The NetVanta 1234P (24 port) or 1238P (48 port) will work

The new switch can be connected by a network cable.

Thank you,

When you say "can be connected by a network cable", means it's not necessary to buy a SFP cable?

Thank you

It will work with a standard network cable.

You should use the 10/100/1000 Base-T ports for the uplink.

You may want to wait for Adtran to respond as to what the recommended best practice is.

This is correct. We do recommend setting the ports on the new switch to "trunk". You will need to create the voice VLAN (2, by default) on the new switch, as ADTRAN switches won't learn them automatically. As long as the ports connecting the two switches are set to trunk, they should work perfectly.
