User is having an issue with her IP712 phone sometime on speaker phone (can get oneway audio on speaker), so I just wanted to swop this extension with another IP712 existing phone, but I can't figure out how to swop things around without having to start deleting things. Any suggestion?
James,
Lets say you have Joe with ext 7001 for IP712 with MAC 00:A0:C8:11:22:33 and you have Mary with ext 7002 with MAC 00:A0:C8:66:77:88
Go to User accounts and edit Joe and then click the Edit config button, just change his MAC to something different because you can't have the same MAC two times, so change it to 00:A0:C8:11:22:34. Scroll down click Apply. That will take you back to User Accounts.
Now open up User Sue and click Edit Config button, and now change her MAC address to that of Joe (00:A0:C8:11:22:33). Click Apply at bottom.
Now open up back up Joe and click Edit COnfig button, and now change his MAC address to that of Sue ( 00:A0:C8:66:77:88 ). Click Apply at bottom.
Now reboot both the phone and all their status groups/extension, buttons will move to the new phone. Nothing will be lost.
I tested it here on mine unit and it worked fine. It will not affect the Status Group monitoring.

Jim,
This is very easy. Just go to Voice > Stations > User accounts and edit the user that you want to swap the phone for. Next to Phone MAC Address you will see a Edit Config... button. click it. That will take you to the Phone config file for the phone. If it is the same phone model, then simple enter the new MAC address and click apply at the bottom and follow directions that appear in the pop-up windows. Let me know if you have any questions.

Clarification,
I have a spare working IP712 phone already on the system, and the IP712 phone that is in question is also working, but I want to want to swop the extensions between these two phones to see if the problem follows the phone or it is a user issue.
Also would be interested in knowing if any thing will happen to the other users that I have Status Groups setup will be effected by the change. I would think that if the MAC address changes, then the extension in the status group would been changed also?
Thank you

Verified, I just performed same swap on two working 712 phones without issues. I changed last four of both mac addresses to 0001 and 0002, then changed one at a time to other mac address, rebooted both phones and done.
Thanks for update. I went ahead and selected the Correct Answer on this thread to make it more visible to other users.
