Upgrading Netvanta 7100 from to A4.03.00.SC.E

Jump to solution

Hi,  I want to upgrade a Netvanta 7100 from A4.03.00.SC.E to the latest version.  Going through the release notes, it states minimum Boot Rom needs to be A2.06.B1.01.

It also states Adtran 706/712 - needs to be bootrom 2.1.0 and minimum software needs to be R2.3.0

Polycom needs to be software 3.2.7 and bootrom needs to be 4.1.2b

How do I find out what software and bootroom I'm running on the phones?

The output of a show version and a show sip user-registration user-agent will tell you everything except the bootrom on the phones.  Here is some sample output with the firmware version information highlighted:

7100#show version

ADTRAN, Inc. OS version R10.10.0.E

  Mainline Version: ENM.13.132

  P4 Changelist: 108701

  Checksum: CFF1F33B

  Built on: Mon Nov 18 17:54:59 2013

  Upgrade key: edc900871c8c53c5e5784f09b807fe11

Hardware version 10A

Boot ROM version A2.06.B1.01

  Checksum: E282

  Built on: Wed Mar 03 13:32:03 2010

Copyright (c) 1999-2013, ADTRAN, Inc.

Platform: NetVanta 7100, part number 1200796E1

Serial number LBADTNXXXXXXXXX

Flash: 33554432 bytes  DRAM: 134217728 bytes

7100 uptime is 4 weeks, 3 days, 23 hours, 57 minutes, 0 seconds

slot 0, DSP 1

  DSP software version: G2.R10.8.M.4b

  DSP hardware version: Freescale MSC7119

  Total channels: 30

System returned to ROM by Warm Start

Current system image file is "CFLASH:/NV7100A-R10-10-0-E.biz"

Primary boot system image file is "CFLASH:/NV7100A-R10-10-0-E.biz"

Backup boot system image file is "CFLASH:/NV7100A-R10-10-M-2-E.biz"

Primary system configuration file is "startup-config"

7100#show sip user-registration user-agent

User                 User-Agent

-------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------

2007                 Adtran-SIP-IP706/v2.4.0.3

2010                 PolycomSoundPointIP-SPIP_601-UA/3.1.3.0439_0004f2112233

2040                 Adtran-SIP-IP706/v2.4.0.3

Total phones registered: 3

It may be best to check the bootrom on phones from the display, one of each model.  For a Polycom go to Menu > Status > Platform > Phone and scroll down until you see BootROM.  For an ADTRAN IP 707/712 go to Menu > Phone Status > Firmware Ver.

Thanks,

Matt
