Ring Group Setup

Jump to solution

Have set up a ring group which is limited to two phones at the moment. The ring group number is 7xx0 with the numbers 7xx1 and 7xx2 members of the group. When people ring 7xx0 both 7xx1 and 7xx2 ring. This is what the end users requested but they also requested that when they dial out from either 7xx1 and 7xx2 that the called number sees that they are receiving a call from 7xx0.

This is where the ring group falls down, does anybody know how I can make this happen. Basically I want to assign the alias 7xx0 to 7xx1 and 7xx2 and any other group members in the future?

Thanks in advance.

Kickkan, unfortunately there is no way to modify caller-id on internal calls to make it appear as though it's coming from the ring group. On external calls, you can use your gateway to modify caller-id as the call exits the system, but that would be the only point at which it could be changed.

is the a chance of allowing internal numbers to be aliased in a near future update?

Kikkan, unfortunately there no immediate plans to add that feature. It might be added in a future release, but it has not been scheduled at this time.
