UC Client demands Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 - but it's already installed

Has anyone run into this?  I've been trying to install the Netvanta UC Client 5.4.0.8184 on a Windows 10 and a Windows 7 PC.  Both seemingly install all the required dependencies, but then give an error message that Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable SP1 is not installed.  But, it is - the auto-installer installs it prior to the UC Client install.

I've tried downloading the latest version from Microsoft and giving the machine a reboot as well as checking Windows updates.

Is there a workaround or something for this?  I've gotten it to work once before, but I don't remember how.

I'm using x64 versions of each OS, and I've tried installing both X86 and x64 versions of Visual C++ 2005 Redist. SP1.
