TA850 RCU - Reset to defaults?

Jump to solution

My thanks to Patrick for the answer to my last question. It helped quite a bit.

Next question: I've acquired a TA850 RCU (1203376L1) which has had a user password set, one which I have no idea on.

Is there a way to reset this module to factory defaults? Or perhaps clear the password memory? The book says it doesn't have a default password, that just pressing ENTER will get you in if the unit is factory fresh.

Please advise. Thanks much.

You can factory default the RCU if you have a VT-100 serial connection to the front CRAFT port. On boot-up you can hold down the "f" key on your keyboard and it should prompt you "Factory Default Unit? (Y/N)"

If you select "y" then the RCU will be factory defaulted and boot up.

Thank you,

Patrick
