Trunk Port or Access Port?

I am using vWLAN with 1840's in one building and 1925's in another.  I am trying to get a feel of the preferred method on configuring the switch port where the access point plugs into.  Currently my ports are access ports, but in talking to a vendor that is doing a wireless study for us, he said this would cause all traffic to go back through and out the vWLAN controller.  During light traffic times this does not seem like it would be a problem.  But during heavy traffic times it seems like this would cause a bottle neck.  He was asking me if the BSAPs are lightweight access points, but he thought they would not be if the data was funneling through the controller.

Any clarification would be appreciated it.

Thanks,

   Steve

Re: Trunk Port or Access Port?

the basp's are fat aps, being controller-less they only communicate with the vwlan for config and management purposes, the aps can be trunked or access ports, whatever works best for you.
