Activate (Enable) ETH 0/1 on NetVanta 4430 HOW???

Hello,

I have a NetVanta 4430 and I need to enable the Eth 0/1 port and it is stubbornly refusing to come up. I'm having the same problem on three different routers so it must be some config issue.

Here is the config for the port on one of the routers:

interface eth 0/1

  description Test Network

  ip address  172.16.x.y  255.255.255.0

  ip mtu 1500

  no rtp quality-monitoring

  no shutdown

What am I missing?
