Netvanta 7100 pickup another line

Jump to solution

Is there a way to pick up another line or "barge into" a call using the 7100?  We have a line that we would like multiple people to be able to answer by using a spre code such as *7.

juhensle,

The NetVanta 7100 does support call pickup.  It needs to be enabled in the Class of Service for the appropriate voice user(s), and then you can dial  the SPRE code *52xxxx*, where xxxx is the four-digit extension of the ringing phone.  You can alternatively use a call pickup group.  More information on call pickup can be referenced in our Call Pickup Guide:

One thing to note is there was a bug in the NetVanta 7100 firmware related to using call pickup with a call on a ring-group.  This was fixed in firmware.  Here is a related post:

Thanks,

Matt

Matt,

We are currently on 4.08. What is the most current version?  Would it create issues for us to upgrade?

juhensle,

A4.12 is the latest version.  You can download it from this page on our main website:

Software Downloads

It should not create any issues to upgrade from A4.08, but it is always a good idea to save a copy of your configuration before upgrading.  Here is a link to our firmware upgrade guide:

Thanks,
Matt
