Voicemail to Email Notification

Jump to solution

The customer's NV7100 system was setup and working originally with the voicemail to email notification, but the IT vendor changed the network IP domain from 192. or 10., but we also updated the NV7100 to reflect this.  Everything is working fine except the vmail to email notification feature has stopped working and I can't figure out what is wrong.

I can not find any information on debugging / troubleshooting this issue.

According to the IT vendor, nothing changed with the local Exchange Server except the IP address (which we updated the "Email Forwarding" Email Server IP address setting).

FYI

That capture helped The IT vendor to fix the problem.

Turned off TLS and that fixed it.

Considering that you went to Utilities>Logging>updated the IP address of the server, your next step would be to access the CLI and run a debug while attempting to leave a voicemail.

router#debug system

router#

Then leave a message on a user that has voicemail to email set.  Copy and paste results here.

p.s.  One other thing you should keep in mind is that an smtp relay was more than likely created in Exchange to relay email from 7100.  You will need to look at the Exchange server receive connector and update the 7100's IP address allowed.  Is it an SBS server or Standard?

The "debug system" command doesn't seem to help with information:

Check authentication settings on receive connector on exchange. The 503 error relates to Mismatch TLS maybe.

According to the IT vendor:

Authentication is set to anonymous. Shouldn't have to authenticate. Ask them if we need to create a certificate on the 7100.

I just wanted to mention that starting with AOS R10.8 TLS security is supported for services that require it like Gmail.

Thanks,

I just wanted to update this post to mention that AOS R10.9.2 was recently released, which included a fix for e-mail servers that use TLS.
